Withstand extreme temperatures
Thermal stress and thermal cycling are important factors to consider when assembling applications that are subject to harsh environments. Solar applications are exposed to direct sunlight by design, and must therefore be able to withstand high-heat, humidity, and other environmental factors. Therefore, building these photovoltaics requires a high-reliability flux like NC-164.
MAXIMIZE EFFICIENCY
Because photovoltaics are energy-generating devices, conductivity and energy transfer are highly important. NC-164 has excellent solderability and high activity levels for better wetting.
INCREASE LIFESPAN and REDUCE DEFECTS
Solar applications are an investment that pay off over time, meaning the working lifespan of the applications is highly important. Defects can reduce lifespan or lead to repair and maintenance costs. NC-164 was optimized to increase first pass yields through reduced flux residue and increased wetting potential.
NC-164 is a low-solids, no-clean liquid flux for solar and electronic applications. NC-164 contains no rosin, halides or halogens and has a solids content of about 3.6%, which reduces the potential for clogging of drop-jet flux systems. NC-164 is also compatible with spray and foaming type flux systems. NC-164 works well with Sn/Pb and Pb-free alloys due to greater heat stability.
